Four Essential Products for Trailers

03/14/2024

Getting your low car from point A to B often requires the use of a trailer. Both open and enclosed trailers can pose several challenges for low cars. Whether it be during loading and unloading, clearing fender wells after the car is on the trailer, or accessing tie down points once the car is in position, we have products that can help ease these pain points. In addition, we have trailer product accessories that may not have landed on your radar.

Here, we have a guide to four essential Race Ramps trailer products:

Lessening the loading angle is the key to getting your car up on the trailer without scraping the front end and without the need to remove the bumper. We accomplish reducing the approach angle with one of our many trailer ramp models. Which model is right for you? Thankfully, we have a handy Trailer Calculator that has helped determine the right trailer ramp fitment for many car and trailer combinations. This is the reason we have 10 different trailer ramp models, all with different angles, lengths, and heights.

For us, it’s all about safety. While we still see many rely on their 2x4 contraptions, we have also seen these pieces of wood sling out from underneath the car tire and it makes for an unsafe situation for not only the car, but anyone around the car. Our trailer ramps have a cut-out notch for a trailer bed, door, flap, or pull-out ramps which is the reason our ramps stay in place during the loading process.

Race Ramps Rear Trailer Mates
The Front Trailer Mates and Rear Trailer Mates add that little bit of lift inside your trailer.

Trailer Mates

We offer both a Trailer Mate Front and a Trailer Mate Rear that give your car a 3” lift when on the trailer. Trailer Mate Fronts have a concave design which provides a cradle and resting point for a car’s front tires. The Trailer Mate Front also helps you identify the same resting spot every time you load your car. The Trailer Mate Rear was designed to accompany the Trailer Mate Front with its identical 3” lift height. When used together, the Trailer Mates provide easier access to your car’s tie down points. Plus, if your car’s doors are having trouble clearing the fender wells, the Trailer Mates might give you just enough lift to help out!

Trailer Side Kick

Have you ever encountered a flat tire on your trailer when on the road? After safely pulling off to the side of the road, you still have challenges on the need to jack up your trailer to change the tire. For tandem axle trailers, we have our Trailer Side Kick designed especially for this situation. By driving up our Trailer Side Kick, can easily access and change out the flat tire without the need for a jack.

Trailer Steps

While many trailers may have attached drop down metal steps, our line of Trailer Steps are popular with campers off-roading and overnighters at the track due to their sturdier base and options for a one- or two-step lift. When off-roading, the grounds are not always even and flat. Our Trailer Steps have a wide base that ensures a larger platform to step on when entering and exiting. Another advantage of our Trailer Steps is that they are lightweight and easily moved around for other needs such as working on your vehicle in the pits. We hope that when you’re working on your vehicle in the pits that it’s also elevated on our service ramps!
